Getting out of the airport in Seoul

Express train, 43 minutes from Terminal 1 and 51 from Terminal 2. The last express back leaves Seoul Station at 23:00, and the last airport-bound all-stop at 23:40.

Two AREX services share the line. The express runs non-stop to Seoul Station with reserved seats, 43 minutes from Terminal 1 and 51 from Terminal 2, roughly every 20 to 40 minutes. The all-stop calls at all 14 stations on the route, Gimpo Airport and Hongik University among them, and takes 59 minutes to Terminal 1 and 66 to Terminal 2.

Express ticketing and boarding is in the Transportation Centre on B1 at each terminal, and on B2 at Seoul Station.

The return is the number to hold. The last express out of Seoul Station leaves at 23:00 and reaches Terminal 1 at 23:43 and Terminal 2 at 23:51. The last all-stop that actually reaches the airport leaves Seoul Station at 23:40: the 23:50 and 00:00 departures terminate at Geomam, well short of it. Nothing reaches the airport again until the 05:20 all-stop.

Inbound, the first express leaves Terminal 2 at 05:16 and Terminal 1 at 05:24, into Seoul Station at 06:07. The last leaves Terminal 2 at 22:40 and Terminal 1 at 22:48, into Seoul at 23:31. In the other direction the first express is 06:00 out of Seoul Station, so an early report before 06:00 means the all-stop or a taxi.

Express is 13,000 won for an adult and 9,500 for a child aged 6 to 12, against an undiscounted 18,500 won from Terminal 1 and 19,100 from Terminal 2. The all-stop is 4,750 won from Seoul Station to Terminal 1 and 5,350 won to Terminal 2 on a transport card; a single-journey card adds 100 won plus a 500 won deposit, refunded at the destination station.

Terminal 2 is eight minutes further out on the express, and the two terminals are linked by a free shuttle from the third floor of each, near gates 6 and 7 at Terminal 2 and by exits 3 and 12 at Terminal 1. It runs 04:30 to 23:35 every 7 to 20 minutes, so it stops before the last train does.
