The S8 or S9 from the station under Terminal 1 reaches Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof in about 12 minutes, and taxis wait around the clock outside both terminals.

There are two separate stations and mixing them up costs you a connection. The regional station is on the underground level of Terminal 1 (Level 0), reachable from all terminal areas by following signs for the train stations. The long-distance station, for ICE and IC services, is separate, about five minutes' walk from Terminal 1.

Deutsche Bahn gives the S8 or S9 between Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and the airport regional station as approximately 12 minutes, departing platforms 103 and 104 on the lower level, on average every 10 minutes. Get off at the regional station, not the long-distance one.

Taxis are available around the clock at both terminals and at the long-distance station, and take you directly to the terminal forecourt. The airport advises telling the driver which airline you are flying with. It gives 20 to 30 minutes for the run into Frankfurt depending on traffic.

For terminal changes, the free Sky Line people mover runs between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 from 04:00 to 23:00, every 2 to 3 minutes. A shuttle bus runs between the terminals from 22:00 to 05:00, stopping in the arrivals forecourt areas in front of the terminal buildings. The airport puts Terminal 3 at roughly 10 to 15 minutes from the regional station by Sky Line.
